Women Have Every RIGHT to Control Their Own Bodies

I'm a women and have 3 kids, ages 19 -24, and 1 granddaughter age 4.

Not all of them were planned, and some came at very bad times! But life throws you curve balls. And LOL, sometimes, I'd like to throw those curve balls back!

Birth control was available 19 - 25 years ago, I failed to use them. So we had 3 daughters. My daughter failed to use them 4 - 5 years ago. So we had Lilly.

We adore our unplanned granddaughter. But at 1st  it was a "crisis." We looked at adoption and tried to push my daughter that direction. She wasn't ready, and neither were we! But now, Lilly is a part of us and we'd be broken without her!

All 3 of my daughters NOW use birth control. They understand their rights and also their responsibilities to take control of their own bodies, their own lives, and their own  reproduction. If they don’t, than that’s a choice too. They have the right to all of these choices. As for me, I chose a tubal ligation after child number 3. It was a good choice for me.

This issue’s debate is not a battle For or Against women’s reproductive rights.

It’s not a battle For or Against "a woman’s right to choose to have or to not have a baby” nor the “right to control her own body and reproduction!"

Bottom line: 

If you want to debate these rights, then lets be crystal clear about what the issues actually are and what you are REALLY asking for.

 

You are REALLY asking for “The Right To Choose To Have An Abortion" 

 

Let's not cloud, or mask it, or try to make it sound different with debate points such as "the right to control our own body and reproduction!" Or how unfair it is "because the guy can walk away, but us as woman, our body may be forced to be pregnant for 9 months.” On 1 point of those points in reality the “unfairness” is only partially true. Laws can make a guy pay till a child turns 18. 

Women have every RIGHT to control their own bodies and their reproduction. That control is "birth control." There are many varieties available to choose from. 

Arm implants are available to make birth control easy and mindless lasting for 3 years. That’s a long time to be sexually free and also  pregnancy free! 

Many other choices are also available such as injections that last for 3 months. Patches, IUD’s, daily pills, if you are good at remembering to take them. And also condoms to use as needed. And additional spermicides available if your afraid of breaking condoms. All making reproduction within your full control. 

There is very little room here to make any logical arguments in support of the “right to have an abortion” as a reproductive choice for unwanted pregnancies. 

So "pro-life" and "right of abortion" aside, just consider other factors of abortion such as cost, the abuses and expense of abortion, agencies and corruption, and the risk to a woman’s health physically, psychologically, and emotionally. Moral positions aside, the "right to choose an abortion" isn’t justifiable, it’s wasteful!  

WHY should government and tax payers fund and give "rights for women to choose an abortion" when we already fund a woman’s right to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the 1st place.

Its not justifiable to give women who FAIL to take control of their own bodies and their own reproduction the right to choose an abortion when there are so many varieties of birth control available for women to use. Many of these options are easily available and even provided for FREE!!! 

With all these available and usually free of cost, every woman CAN "Take Control" of their bodies and their own reproduction.

The door to abortion doesn’t have to be wide open to accommodate severe or unusual exceptions. Situations where exceptions exist should be looked at and decided individually.

Patriotism in Our Schools

Should Patriotism Be Encouraged or Discouraged In American Schools? 

Are we raising an anti-patriotic generation in our American schools? 

Shouldn’t American schools and teachers foster a passion for patriotism? 

Facts linked to emotion inspire, and also make facts easier to recall. There seems to be a fashionable growing trend in schools by well meaning teachers to lead discussions in class that seem to humble American heroism, while signaling out the "sins" made in the building blocks of America. 

We want our children to know ALL of our Nation’s history, both good and bad. While mistakes exist in our history, America today should be defined by our successes. There is an unbalanced view of America history disproportionately being taught.

Even if the curriculum is accurate and complete, have teacher led discussions in the classroom discouraged patriotism by emotionally exciting our kids through a hyper focus in discussions about injustices and prejudice vanquished in our nations history?  

In reality, most of us American parents have taught our children from birth to be fair and kind, to accept diversity, and to live by the golden rule. We taught them to oppose injustice (be fair) and resist prejudice (be kind and accept diversity) treat everyone equally and fairly (the golden rule). We filled their consciences to know right from wrong. These are moral and ethical values we taught our kids at home daily through in everyday life from birth. 

It’s possible, the consciences we built have been manipulated and exploited toward  political agendas and select interests. Inadvertently, using teachers to instill a disdain for our country heritage.

Teacher led discussions that focus on “mending” or “righting the wrongs” in  America’s past have self-defeating effects. The breed racial divisions, blame, and disproportionate protests, and overbalanced sympathetic views that validate racial divisions, and justify racial violence. 

Is there an infiltration of political agendas and promotion of special interests using the classroom as a platform to emotionally engage and excite our children toward their agendas while undermining America's greatness? 

Teachers need to offer a balanced perspective  leading our youth in discussions that are  infused with an excitement about our progress and growth. Emotionally connecting our kids to our American values. Highlighting the many valiant acts of heroism, and core values that propelled us forward, united us, and made us great. Class discussions should not direct the focus of our youth to protest their American heritage, but instead they should excite our kids with patriotism. Patriotism is caught not taught.

I've had many discussions with my kids over their school age years. Especially my youngest who is now 19. As a parent, I’ve noticed rapid changes over the years as my kids, now ages 19 to 24, came home from school. 

Increasing more emphasis is placed on teaching our kids about mistakes made in our nations history. Also, arming them with a preposterous conviction that "our generation" didn’t know these things” and "in our education it was hidden from us.” Exact words from my kids. I now also hear similar statements  from others especially in online posts and arguments. 

The funny thing, I cant remember any of my generational accusers surprising me with any "new pieces of history" that I supposedly didn't learn. I had a regular average history education. It should be easy to enlighten me with all those facts my teachers left out! 

I'm almost 50 years old. I learned about things like unfairness to Indians, Marco Polo, injustices done to Indians, atrocities of slave trading, equal rights movements for women and blacks, segregation and desegregation and a pretty well rounded clear view of America through history. And also, every morning we raised the flag respectfully and proudly, said The Pledge of Allegiance, and sang the Star Spangled Banner too!

I think our generation learned more balanced views of American history than my kids have learned over the last few decades. 

Discussions with my kids were always good, but a struggle. The conversations were usually ignited by a sense of indignant injustice that seemed aimed at unraveling American patriotism in the hearts of my kids. The information my kids learned was undeniably infused with an unbalanced excitement for mistakes made as our country evolved. 

Incomplete and unbalanced, their history education had less and less focus on content about the good things our country had done. And had an exaggerated focus on the bad.

In the recent political and educational environment, there seems to be a war within us, and in our classrooms, against true American pride. An agenda to discredit and devalue America through the eyes of our own kids. 

Education today has an undercurrent of political and special interest views. Instead of teaching our kids to honor the lives sacrificed, our values, and our deeds of our generosity. And, teaching them pride in our influence abroad and in the actions we have taken to protect and defend human lives and freedoms everywhere. 

Our children come home with an indignant excitement about our wrinkles, which they can easily recall and recant. While passion and excitement is missing in our countries valiant heroism and our great deeds are not attached with the same excitement.

Through history, America helped others, and gave to many other countries during numerous tragedies... from natural disasters, to threats of genocide. We fought with and also fought for a better life for people in every part of the world. We maintained peace during times of unrest and fear, and repaired war torn areas,  and gave a better life to many that are not our own. All these good deeds done usually without thanks, and often to our own detriment. 

In a little over 200 years, America became the greatest superpower on earth, with the rest of the world measuring world peace, health, and wealth according to what America does next. 

Amazing!!

We have more freedom, equality, and tolerance here in America than anywhere else in the world, and we  share it freely. Yet, we are under the greatest scrutiny and highest critisims from other countries, even countries we often helped. But now add insult to injury, we are teaching our own children those attitudes, attacking America from within!

Tear us down, remove us, then live in the world without America. 

My guess, the world would become a very dark place if it weren't for us.

Its tragic about Indians and other atrocities in the fabric of our history. 

Young America grew, we became strong and generous. With many growing pains both good and bad. 

We grew up like a growing child and then in maturity we became a parent who guides and cares for all. 

America added religious and cultural diversity, it  spread out from ocean to ocean. Imigrants found a land to call their home. People from everywhere survived and thrived. They looked for a better life and found it. They found freedom and a fair way of life. They added to our numbers, added to our crowded cities, and chased gold. They built homes, farms, and communities, while resources they had been denied elsewhere were richly available here. 

We built up way more than we ever tore down. 

The wrinkles in our fabric are beautiful lines of wisdom that graced the face of a free diverse nation. 

We should teach our children pride of who we have become in the short time just over 200 years. 

Teach our children to embrace both the good and the bad. In balance, with pride, as strong and unified, with hope for the future. 

It was a long journey made in a short time. 

Honoring our American heritage honors those who paved the way through all the changes and adversity we faced together as a young nation.

Not just the pride of us living today in America. But honoring those whose bones our freedoms were built upon. 

American heros who opposed tierney, slavery, racial divisions, supression, inequality and more. Many sacraficed everything for the  American life we take for granted, as we teach our children to devalue their heritage, kill those that protect them, and then scream for more because America owes them.

Then we wonder why are influence abroad is disgraced and our streets are less safe.

Teach our children American Pride!

In just one lifetime of 100 years, 

we used the land we fought for to benefit many. We filled it with people from every nation and every tongue. Most of whom would agree, America gave them opportunities and hope they never would have had  anywhere else, including all those who are here inadvertently through wrinkles and adversity, but then  found a home as Americans. 

In a lifetime of 100 years, we ended slavery, took out unstable world powers. We ended atrocities and regimes like Hitler and others that  abused their power. We aided countries everywhere helping them through devastaion of natural disaters. We built irrigations, aided in food supplies, provided medical relief, ended major diseases, and more and more and more. 

All in all we blessed the world by being us. We are America.

Sharia Law, Should We Be Concerned?

If Sharia Law is a non threat, what's the "big deal" if all American States ban it or not?

The following excerpt is taken from a 1939 speech by Winston Churchill. And is applicable for America, as well as for Great Britain today.

 "Indeed, it is possible that the dangers into which we are steadily advancing would never have arisen.

But the world and the Parliaments and public opinion would have none of that in those days. When the situation was manageable it was neglected, and now that it is thoroughly out of hand we apply too late the remedies which then might have effected a cure.

US courts judge according to Federal and State laws. Why would we allow exceptions for foreign laws in our courts?

Introducing foreign standards of justice can create loopholes that contradict and even oppose our own judicial standards? What ramifications could arise? Or, would we see very little impact in our courts?

In legal matters Muslim to Muslim, both parties may agree to conduct trials and litigations according to Sharia Law standards. Who then or by what measure determines the method in Muslim to non-Muslim legal cases?

They both have a right to a "fair trial."

These differing methods can burn out of control, infused by political correct societal pressures and inflamed by racial minority or majority views. This would present a host of cataclysmic outcomes.

Abraham Lincoln said, "A house divided against itself cannot stand." An excerpt taken from the Bible.


"And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

And if a house be divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

And if Satan hath risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.

But no one can enter into the house of the strong man, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house."

In this context, Jesus used an everyday concept to explain something in the supernatural. I noted this excerpt here as a reasonable physical concept.

Allowing foreign laws into our judicial system could redefine our Constitutional Right to a fair trial.

If loopholes are identified to benefit one  party over another as to a more favorable outcome, could deliberation methods be chosen in order to unfairly manipulate court cases?

Could admitting foreign law potentially alter justice and create outcomes that contradict US court law, and chip quickly away at all of our Constructional Rights, legally?

Below is a posters defense for allowing Sharia Law into non-Muslim judicial court systems.

"Oh people come on! I imagine this has been thought up because there are a significant number of Muslims who rely on unofficial Sharia courts with no actual jurisdiction rather than turn to the UK justice system.

By having this in place it gives the British judicial system more oversight of legal matters within the Muslim community and can allow for some consistency of approach. There will not be stoning, there will not be discrimination against women or disabled people or homosexuals because that doesn't fit in with the British judicial system and the Equality Act 2010. I imagine the introduction of some aspects of Sharia Law will be the small-fry stuff - disputes over land, inheritance, divorce etc - but with the British equality principles having an overriding factor. Don't let the Daily Mail scare you into a frenzy that we're all being Islam-ified because its utter nonsense. Surely it's better for Muslims to have some kind of judicial process that the UK government has some oversight of rather than being unregulated and without a fair process?"

The part that concerns me most, is on what her views are derived from. "I imagine it been all thought out" and also says "I imagine it will be small fry stuff."

Is it wise for citizens to base important decisions on what they can or can't "imagine?"

Decisions of this nature need to be based on facts, NOT gut feelings.

We need to look at issues like this from every angle. Imagining the worst possible scenarios based on clear educated principals.  Evaluating possible loopholes, and other difficulties. Not on what can or can't be imagined within our limited personal experiences.

In Defense of a Commander in Chief

Nothing is perfect. You don't always need to hit the bulls eye to win a game of darts.

George Bush Sr and George W Bush were on the right track headed in the right direction. 

If we didn’t take a "Happy Hour" break with Bill Clinton, and drink ourselves into a Drunken Stupor with Obama, we wouldn't be waking up with such a miserable hangover today!

After, Clinton left behind severe defense and military cuts that Americans wanted and applauded. 

George W Bush was handed the greatest attack ever on our soil, within months of taking office. You blame GW Bush, when the loudest of you all along with Clinton left us wide open and exposed! 

Cutting defense after the Gulf War was probably the biggest mistake made in our lifetime, and we sweep it under the rug. We should start the blame there  for 9/11. We should have cut ridiculous programs, NOT defense! 

George W Bush found himself leading a population of fickle Americans that couldn't tell the difference between facts, reason, and common sense to tall tales, fairy tails, and far fetched science fiction! 

The American people decided that being politically correct was somehow better and more forward thinking than actually BEING  correct. The rest from then to now has been a run away train. 

We should have stuck with G Bush Sr. 

And we also should have stood behind and kept standing behind George W Bush, instead of fighting his administration every step of the way. 

GW Bush didn't change his mind, you all did! Like  gung hoe gang busters you all stepped out. Then when he led the charge, you scrutinized every move, tied the hands of your own military, and you  abandoned your country and your commander in chief! And that’s just plain Nuts!

You stepped forward, but without resolve and commitment. Then the charge you wanted, you abandoned. You left your commander in chief and your country exposed while you criminalized your military and defenders! 

You tied up every initiative with red tape and  politics of your own. And when you ran out of red tape, you made sure you got some more!

Then as always, you blamed everything and everybody but yourselves.

“Of the People and For the People.” Its time to take responsibility for your part in where we are today! 

You pushed the hand of those that lead you into playing politics instead of joining them to lead us to a better safer more abundant place.  

During George W's presidency, Americans tied the hands of our military, prosecuted those that protected them, and fought more for the rights of terrorists than they did for the rights of the innocent. No wonder the world looks at us and can easily depict our weakness. Our weakness is our tolerance and our humanity. Politically correct pressures taking away your right of free speech.

You chose a president that bows to evil regimes, you tolerate terrorists, and you stay silent for the sake of political correctness. And you protest in the  streets and murder your police officers. 

Today American citizens criminalize their police officers, and praise criminals and offenders. 

America you are your own problem! And hopefully some conservative choices can save you from yourselves, without you crying and screaming for the Fruit Loops in the cereal isle!

We need to figure out what we need from our government. And we also need to budget the deficit too! Before you decide to get on board with a cause, evaluate it. There’s not an endless source. Its your house, its your government. Those we hire are supposed to serve us. Not ride our backs with the latest cause. 

The most important things we need to federally support - Military, Defense, Intelligence, we need to be safe and stay free. We need to generously care for our Seniors, and those who can’t care for themselves. And we need to educate our children like they ARE tomorrow!

Starting in preschool, teach them how to think and reason and excel in math, science, literature and physical fitness. Accelerate academically and inspire pride in patriotism! I think all of American schools should be military schools.

American education should inspire patriotism, teach honor, reward ethics, and create young adults that take responsibility for themselves and also for others, stren

gthen them in self respect and discipline. 

Teach them there’s more to being a good citizen than recycling. Teach them to govern themselves, protect their freedoms, and be American!
